2047 is a book which is written by Roshni who is a lawyer pursuing Master’s degree in Forensic Science. The book “2047” is based on her disillusionment and suggested reforms. So that each reader can understand and answer the questions posed in their individual manner of thinking, she has illustrated the seven chapters with case studies and cartoons drawn by world famous artists.

- SIMRIN, THE READER

About the book –

When George Orwell wrote 1984, it was the world we live in now. Roshni is offering a way of crises be they related to economy or society. Her view spans continents like democracy which was once sold as freedom. By the time you watch all the videos she will be posting each week, the curtain hiding ugly truths will have lifted. She has put out a blog should informed persons want to interact with her. Published in 2018, this book will force the reader out of routine and into thinking why and how he got here.

1. “WHO REPRESENTS ME? UNLIKELY HEROINES”

Neither in America nor in UK, the world´s first lady Prime Minister was a Sri Lankan. But India is unable to women elected in the way Canada has nearly succeeded. Marriage is an institution and this chapter begs the question if it is worth sacrificing education at the altar.

2. “HOW DO I LEGISLATE? BREAD LOSERS”

If being able to elect law makers actually made us free then we would be self sufficient. But instead most of the middle class is neck deep in debt because their employers have profited from goods and services they provide by working six to seven days a week.

3. “ARE WE FREE? MOTHER INDIA”

Milk of hypocrisy flows abundant when two women visit their revenue collector for food rations. They have sons and permits for feeding paper but latter fall short of government requirements. Former are unemployed and infants cannot register biometrics for social security.

4. “WHERE DO WE GO? LIP SERVICE”

Three queries down, the reader is already examining the options. Roshni insists that democracy or rule of people is the best form of government. Both vegetarian and fish markets are visited to see why monarchs must give up their posh lifestyles for comfort of subjects.

5. “BUT HOW? SMOKE AND MIRRORS”

Power or control is exercised by markets, not knowledge. Governments are using brute force to crush protests when the very people whose rule the democracy must be, realize that they are being fooled into borrowing money only the banks need.

6. “AM I JOKING? SPENDING ON WELFARE”

Author asks why the very government that prints currency is unable to support pensioners and affords so much publicity. Her question is simply where is the money going if not being spent on people who elected those who now rule.

7. “WHY DO THIS NOW? DEMOCRATIC PRIORITIES”

America has only recently resumed hunting once endangered wolves. All animals are the fair game because their habitat is the only land available on planet Earth. Most of what are called nations have been conquered by business conglomerates. The time to reclaim humanity is now.

Why This Book Is Important –

The author has covered following aspects –

1) Democracy has become two faced and it is now that readers must see what seems secret.

2) After seventy years, India is today no better than an African nation violently torn apart by departed colonists.

3) The legacy of Sanjay Gandhi in which she explains Twenty Point Programme.

There are many things which are new. But I have tried to throw light on the three above. Hope readers explore 2047 for the rest.

This book will definitely add some knowledge to each one’s life.

Recommended to -

This book is recommended to law aspirants, corporate professionals, people who are studying Public Policy and other kind of professional courses which require a broader understanding of law, policy framework, and its implementation.

Readers from all walks of life could relate to examples and cartoons she has used in the book. Even if the government or its system cannot be corrected by individuals, together society can.

Barely a hundred pages, the last two being blank 2047 is a must read for media professionals be they social or mainstream so that trickle down delivery of welfare promised by world leaders can be better explained.

Lastly I recommend that teachers use 2047 as a guide for one world, one government. Two wars have devastated more than any generation could rebuild. Roshni reminds us that we have borrowed this planet from our children and it is time to repay that loan.

Kindly give this book a read. It may give hope, if not a new government.
